Job Description

Our client is a high-growth, diversified technology leader, providing complex security/life safety hardware and software solutions to a wide array of commercial, industrial and residential channel partner and end-user clients worldwide. We are currently engaged to identify and evaluate a high-energy Global Engineering Leader. 


The Engineering Leader will drive innovation of the core functionality of our client’s complete range of safety, security and communication products and systems that address diverse end-user needs.  Simultaneously driving strategic new product development (keen focus on cloud/IoT offerings) and day-to-day senior engineering leadership responsibilities.  Candidates must offer experience leading diverse teams across multiple global geographies inside a complex corporate culture. 


The candidate must be able to operate in a matrix organization, working with product managers to define specifications and articulating them into program objectives. Tactically, the successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the internal team and/or partners to design, test, qualify, and release products and features to customers while maintaining schedule, performance, and budget objectives.




-Manage engineering product development across global engineering centers

-Responsible for entire systems, projects, programs/operational unit across or within functional areas

-Develop, collaborate and drive engineering standards

-Applies expert knowledge that extends across multiple disciplines

-Accountable for budget, staffing, and/or business/operational results

-Key communicator of business goals to Project Team, and sets Team performance commitments to those goals

-Develops and monitors key product, program, and business measures; Agrees on goals and allowable variances on these goals with the business leaders and communicates progress




-Must have software, hardware and systems engineering experience

-Must be self-motivated and results-oriented

-Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus a strong focus on continuous improvement

-Troubleshoots effectively using reading, probing, analyzing, and interpreting skills

-Enjoys helping customers use software tools to find solutions to business problems

-Both people and results-oriented; Able to inspire trust

-Experience with a variety of development processes, methodologies and tools

-Ability to exercise independent judgment in assessing priority and severity of issues

-Able to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team

-Able to manage a variety of customer situations

-Strong familiarity with configuration management tools and defect management tools

-Must have knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based operating systems and elements




Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of related experience

Master's degree with 7+ years of related experience
