Job Description

Our Client is one of the world's most highly regarded providers of Security and Life-Safety Technologies with a comprehensive product portfolio of advanced solutions to protect buildings, people and assets.  This position will work along with customer service, tech support marketing and engineering to drive business growth and support customer needs.  While reporting to the VP of Sales and Marketing the position is directly responsible for the following but not limited to:


-Oversee/Manage approximately 20 Independent Manufacturer Rep organizations

-Growing sales revenue by the specified goal with profitability meeting business threshold.  For 2020-21 fiscal year 15% YOY increase in sales revenue. 

-This should be done through growing existing customers to exceed market growth

-Win with new distributors

-Expanding geographic representation

-Establish strong relationships with key A&E firms and get products specified on 6 large projects/year. Develop plan to create pull through opportunities.

-Develop strategic plan on how to grow overall business including technology roadmap, distribution sales strategy, channel management. 

-Identify key macroeconomic indicators that would signal industry growth (i.e new construction commercial rates by region/city).

-Take strategic marketing approach – ensure voice of customer is incorporated into entire business process from product offering, marcom, sales initiatives, customer support, etc. Understand customer buying rationale, application usage, end markets to target.

-Submit brief weekly sales activity reports and detailed monthly strategic reports.  Facilitate consolidation of the national sales reps monthly reports. Monthly reports to include forecast update, new pursuits, key jobs, progress with OEMs.

-Provide monthly forecast with anticipated key sales by month to support inventory levels and financial forecast. Ensure forecast is accurate within+/- 2% each quarter.  Conduct monthly analysis on key customers: why up or down and how to impact.

-Use CRM to track distribution outlet pursuits, quotes and sales calls on regular reoccurring basis (daily,wkly)

-Work with Buying groups, representative firms, wholesale distribution to grow business. Assess channel efficacy and adjust as needed.

-Identify key networking, brand awareness opportunities for the year in advance and work with marketing to budget and support

-Communicate with reps as needed regarding key info, ensure consistency in pricing

-Ensure all team members that engage with customers (sales, customer service, tech support, product mgt) act as brand ambassadors

-Support customer service as needed with management of critical sales orders, new customer account information; customer inquiries for pricing, quoting

-Providing trade show support, identifying key content to display, booth needs, organizing trades documenting leads and following up afterwards. 

-Provide VOC input to product literature, social media, website so information is kept up to date.  Work closely with marketing to update branding.

-Ensure extended sales team has the sales tools needed to help close deals.

-Work closely with our global team and Corporate sister companies to identify areas of geographic expansion.
