Glossary of Terms

Temp:

A position with a time limit to fill in for sick leave, maternity leave, vacations, special projects, etc. These positions can be from one day to several months or longer.  The candidate is a Reitman Personnel employee.  The company simply pays an invoice for hours actually worked plus state sales tax.  All other payroll costs remain with Reitman.


Temp-to-Hire:

A company is seeking a permanent employee but wishes the candidate to serve a three month period (500 hours) as a temporary employee through Reitman Personnel.  This enables the company and candidate to evaluate each other and come to a mutually agreeable decision for a hire.  During the 500 hour temporary status, the company pays an invoice for hours actually worked plus state sales tax.  All other payroll costs remain with Reitman.

Companies should note that a Reitman temp-to-hire candidate may join your company after the 500 hour period at a $1,000.00 conversion fee.


Professional Search/Direct Hire:

A company has a permanent job opening, which it wishes Reitman to fill. Reitman does an extensive search to find the most qualified candidate to fill that position.  The successful candidate is then directly hired by the company and the company simply pays a one time fee based on the employee’s annual salary.


Retained Search:

This plan is excellent for challenging openings within your organization. Your company pays one third of the anticipated fee in advance of the search. Reitman invests time, money, and as many staff as necessary in the search. Retained searches receive priority status. Upon completion of the hire, the remainder of the fee is paid within 30 days. An extended replacement guarantee is provided.  


Payroll Employees:

Companies can refer applicants they plan to eventually hire or that they desire to work on a project to Reitman Personnel. Referrals will be asked to come to our office to fill out all required paperwork, interview, and take the necessary tests for the position.  This is a money saver for clients because we charge a lower mark-up and the company simply pays an invoice for hours worked. All other payroll costs remain with Reitman Personnel.
